1. Our Role Under HIPAA

House of RCM provides medical billing, credentialing, and revenue cycle management services to healthcare practices. When we handle protected health information (PHI) for a practice, we act as that practice’s Business Associate under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

2. Business Associate Agreement First

We sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with every client before anyone on our team accesses patient information. The BAA sets out how PHI is used, protected, and returned or destroyed when our work ends.

3. How We Protect Patient Information

• Access is limited to the authorized team members who need it for their work.
• We use physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the information.
• Information moves between your practice and our team by secure methods agreed with you.
• We regularly review and improve our security practices.

4. Please Don’t Send Patient Information Through This Website

The forms on this website are for business enquiries, such as requesting a billing audit or asking about our services. Please do not include patient names, dates of birth, insurance IDs, diagnoses, or any other patient information in a website form, a regular email, or a text message. Once a BAA is in place, we will set up a secure way to exchange records with your practice.

5. Information for Patients

If you are a patient of a practice we work with, your healthcare provider is responsible for its Notice of Privacy Practices and for requests about your health records. Please contact your provider with questions about your health information or to exercise your rights under HIPAA.
